Friday Insights: The ITV news shake-up

24 March 2017

Around a month ago, we saw ITV bravely experiment with its late evening news slot. The News at 10 has been moved to a slot starting half an hour later and has been replaced by The Nightly Show. Conscious of the fact that they already lose out to their rival, the BBC News at 10, this change is aimed at providing an entertaining alternative.

Please note data for this email was collected on 3rd-10th March. We know from press coverage that the chosen presenter for each week heavily influences viewer perceptions of the show and wider opinions may be evolving accordingly.
