NHS Hartlepool: Cancer awareness research

Public Knowledge were commissioned by NHS Hartlepool to conduct pre and post stage research to examine public levels of awareness of bowel and lung cancer, using the site specific CAM measures.

510 face-to-face street and door knocking interviews were undertaken across each of the Wards of Hartlepool and quotas on age, gender and ethnicity were imposed to ensure data collection from a representative sample.

Following a high impact social marketing campaign to raise awareness across the population of Hartlepool a post stage was to then be undertaken in order to evaluate the success of this.
